Roku Setup & Support

A practical guide for installing, pairing, publishing, and keeping your SightLoop screen ready.

Before you begin

Use a currently supported Roku device connected to a 16:9 television or display. Confirm that the Roku can reach the internet, the TV is set to the correct HDMI input, and a SightLoop administrator has created and named the screen in Studio.

Install and pair SightLoop

  1. Install the SightLoop app using the pilot or Store instructions supplied by support.
  2. Open SightLoop. The first-time setup screen asks for a church code and six-digit PIN.
  3. In Studio, open Screens, choose the screen, and generate a fresh pairing PIN.
  4. Enter the church code and PIN with the Roku remote. The PIN expires after 24 hours.
  5. When pairing succeeds, Studio immediately marks the screen as paired.

Assign and publish

  1. Open Screens in Studio and assign the screen to one Display Channel.
  2. Open that Display Channel and confirm the slide order, timing, and schedule.
  3. Use Preview to inspect the loop, then select Publish.
  4. The Roku checks for a new manifest periodically. Use Refresh in diagnostics to check now.

Keep the display available

  • Disable Roku screensavers or choose a setting that does not interrupt signage.
  • Disable bandwidth-saving and automatic power-saving prompts where your model permits.
  • Configure the television so it remains on the Roku’s HDMI input.
  • After a power interruption, reopen SightLoop from the Roku home screen.

A normal Roku application cannot guarantee that it will launch automatically after every power interruption.

Troubleshooting

Screen shows a network message

Open Roku network settings and run the connection check. Restart the Roku and router when appropriate. If valid cached slides exist, SightLoop continues showing them during a temporary outage.

New slides are not appearing

Confirm the channel was published—not only saved as a draft. Open SightLoop diagnostics, compare the current channel version to Studio, and choose Refresh.

Pairing PIN does not work

Confirm both the church code and six-digit PIN. Pairing PINs expire after 24 hours and work only once. Reset pairing in Studio to rotate the device credential and create a new PIN.

The TV powers off or leaves SightLoop

Review the television sleep timer, HDMI-CEC behavior, Roku power-saving settings, and screensaver. SightLoop cannot override television firmware or power loss.
